Okay, I am an eighteen year old female, and I have not have vaginal intercourse, but my boyfriend and I do mess around a bit...we only go as far as oral s*x. But I had/have Bacterial Vaginosis and when I went to the doctor she asked me if I was sexually active and I didn't really know how to respond because I was embarassed, so I just said I wasn't. But I am going to the OB/GYN next month, and I want to be thorough, so when they ask me if I am sexually active...what should I say? It's really embarassing. Thanks.

  1. I think you should tell the OB/GYN that you are *considering* becoming sexually active because, as you said, you want them to be thorough.  Also, I don't know if/when you do plan to become vaginally sexually active, but this would be a good opportunity to get a 'baseline' checkup done (you really should have one before having s*x so you can identify what, if any conditions were already there and which were caused by s*x.)

  2. yep u are jus say its not s*x and they will get the idea

  3. oral s*x would make you sexually active. explain to the dr what you're doing and trust me she wont laugh or be suprised by whatever you say. remember you can get stds from oral s*x also.

  4. Just say yes, because Oral s*x is a form of sexual activity, which you can get STDs from, aswell as stimulation to genital areas like touching for example. Just because you didn't full out have s*x you are still considered sexually active.

  5. well sexually active means vaginal s*x. you didn't get bacterial vaginosis from oral. lol. so tell them no. good luck and thank god there's at least a 18 year old virgin left.

  6. it means having s*x

  7. Just tell the dr.. only oral no penn.. they'll get the information they need from that statement

  8. If your hymen is still intact you are technically not sexually active. But you should be clear with your OB/GYN about the intimacy level you reach with your boyfriend. Trust Me, He or She has heard it before.

  9. no. oral s*x isnt the same as vaginal s*x.

  10. yes, you are sexually active.

  11. OK.  You are a young adult, but still an adult.  Please do the mature thing and don't let your embarrassment interfere with your getting good medical care.

Yes, you are sexually active.  To make sure there is no miscommunication, just tell your doctor what you've told us here, i.e., that you engage in oral s*x.

  12. Just say not vaginally sexually active, cause oral/anal s*x is still  considered "s*x" hence the name oral/anal.... s*x...

  13. well to me, anything going up there means your sexually active (tounge, fingers, or whatever)

  14. tell them what you are doing, my opinion is anything that can put you at risk is sexually active. even if your just having oral s*x it counts as sexually active because you are having a form of s*x and it is dangerous

  15. Wellll say

"Not totally, depends what you consider sexually active.

I have had oral s*x, but gone no further"

  16. Doin the dirty. Dipping your chicken nugget in her sauce.

  17. Yes; if you have been involved in any kind of sexual contact, you are sexually active. Oral s*x definitely counts. Don't be embarrassed to be open with medical professional; they deal with this stuff all day every day, and they aren't judging you. Have a good life! :)

  18. Any activity involving sexual organs (such as oral s*x) is generally considered sexual activity, especially in a medical context. You're old enough for it to be okay, and you shouldn't be embarrassed about it. It is important for your doctors to know about these things so they can help you stay healthy.
