I've been really depressed lately over the littlest things my doctor recomended medication, my parents want me to get it but the word medication makes me feel weird and I don't like to admit things are wrong with me,

but how does this exactly work? HOW does it make you not depressed? does it prevent you from ever being sad..even if something bad happens or does it just make your emotions 'regular'?

please, if you can, explain this to me??

  1. it balances serotonin and dopamine chemicals in your brain...when they're not balanced that's when you sad and depressed... These chemicals are what makes us feel well in general..

  2. Its managing the neurochemicals in brain.

  3. What it does is changes the neurotransmitters in your brain; you will still feel sad, but it will be manageable; but everyone is different.

  4. Medications for depression are right for some people and not for others.  Weigh your options before deciding to begin a medication regimen.

Here's a link to medications for you.  It can explain it in more detail for you.
