  1. I doubt you will get many answers because your question is confusing.  Do you mean placing some kind of fabric onto an existing wall?  What kind of wall and what kind of fabric?

Or do you mean trying to construct a wall that is made of some kind of manufactured fabric and non weight bearing?

Clarify your question and perhaps people can help you.

If you are looking to place something on an existing wall, you can use spray glue, an adhesive of some sort that spreads evenly preferably with a roller, an adhesive that you dip the fabric into to wet it down (like wall paper), then place the fabric onto the wall and hope it doesn't slip or slide and doesn't bubble.  I have seen burlap used this way for some walls, and it has to be supported in some fashion to keep it from sliding down the wall until the adhesive dries.  Problem is that adhesive tends to penetrate the fabric and also stick to whatever you place against it to hold it in place.

I would look at AOL do it yourself, or google or yahoo wall decorating and see what you get.

As a last resort, if my assumption is correct, a craft store that also sells material may be able to help you.

  2. Apply adhesive, hang fabric, smooth. It's basically like wallpaper but like wallpaper you have to first prime, paint or otherwise prepare the wall, use the correct adhesive, and the correct fabric. We use this method in stores that have slits in them for shelving brackets as the fabric covers up the slits and is strong enough to be tear resistant.
