  1. It all depends on how you want to live... you can live like a peruvian for very little... but then, you probably want flush toilets and electricity.

  2. if depends where you want to live, I recomend you the best and safest palces as Surco, Miraflores, San Isidro, San Borja (USD 250-USD 350 rent per month). Other places could be Lince, Magdalena, Salamanca, Pueblo Libre, San Miguel (USD 180-USD 280 per month). 2bedromm apartment.

  3. Based on my experience,$125-$250 USD(Depending on location and amenities) per month is what you will pay for a basic, clean, partially furnished one bedroom apartment, short term, (less than 6 months) in a decent neighborhood.Sometimes water and power is included in the price but gas, if needed for heat and/or cooking, is usually paid for by the renter as is bottled water. You can rent a cell phone for the duration of your stay. You can also make a deal with some hotels and most hostels that have private rooms available in addition to their dormitory for a reduced monthly rate which has some advantages in that they already have heat, bottled water and a fully equipped kitchen, television, etc.

Having other people around all the time can be an advantage or disadvantage.
