My hubby and I will be traveling in Feb 2009, and I am curious how much cab fare will cost us during the trip. We will be taking a cab from the airport to our hotel, which is very close to the Walt Disney World Animal Kingdom Park, and back (when we are leaving). We will also be visiting some other attractions like Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Medieval Times, Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum etc, and will be taking a cab to those places as well. If you have any idea on how much it will cost (on any or all legs of our trip), I would really appreciate it!

  1. Taxis are probably a little steep but depending on how you play it out matters too. Most hotels have shuttles from them to the theme parks or even the airport. if they do not have one to the airport even a bus would probably be cheaper. I paid $50 for a 20min ride but I was stuck and that was my way out! Try to be reasonable take shuttles to the parks and if you are going shopping i would go for a taxi other then that buses should work good too. I would talk to your concierge at your hotel. They should be able to help the most. Goodluck!

  2. Why not rent a car?  Orlando is one of the cheapest cities in the country to do so.  Much more freedom than trying to call and wait for a cab!

  3. you say you are staying close to disney's animal kingdom so i assume you are staying on disney property.

so why not take the free disney magical express bus from the airport to your hotel and back.

and you can take the free buses from your hotel to anywhere in disneyworld.

and you can take a bus that will cost you a couple dollars that stops at your hotel and take it to universal and sea world.

and to get to the rest of the places you could either take a public bus which stops on disney property at downtown disney or you could take a cab.

cab prices are pretty steep. it will cost about $7 per mile.

so if you have to go 10 miles to get to ripley's believe it or not you will pay $70 to get there. and $70 to get back. wow! thats alot!

  4. Unless you've got a good reason not to, I'd rent a car.  You can get a car for about $20 a day if you don't mind the El Cheapo model--heck, half the time they upgrade you because they're out of that one anyway.  The "Entertainment Book" is a great place for discounts on car rentals.

Taxi will run about $40 or $50 from Orlando International airport (If you fly into Sanford airport double that) to the Disney area.  About $40 to get from Disney to Universal or Disney to International drive.  About $30 to get to SeaWorld.

If you haven't noticed, Disney's a little out there from the rest of Orlando.  You're looking at $70 to $80 round trip or about 4 days with a rental car.

    $60 round trip to Ripley's.

$60 round trip to Medieval Times.

$50 round trip to Sea World.

    That' over $300.
