How expensive is a private university?

I'm thinking about applying to a private university, but unless I get a "full ride", how expensive would going to a college like SMU be after scholarships and grants? I'm assuming that I'd have to pay thousands of dollars in up front and in loans. Any help, because the financial aid sections of the websites are confusing.

It depends on the school.  But most private schools can run you from 20,000 to 50,000 a year.

You usually won't find the cost of the school in the financial aid section, look under where it says Tuition and Fees and dorms.
