How expensive is it to have an over head light installed?

My place was built about 4 yrs ago and the bedrooms do not have over head lighting, just outlets connected with a light switch. I like lamps but I also want more lighting. I am not a do-it yourself type person....mainly cause I could hurt myself and everyone I love!! Okay maybe not that drastic, but electricity can be scary. How expensive could this be?

How much this will cost will depend on how hard the installation will be.  If you have a crawl space/attic above these rooms, then installing overhead lights is very easy, if not it can be very challenging to get the wiring to the planned light location.  Also, remember that you need to consider that it costs money for someone to come to your house, honestly this is more than the cost of a simple light fixture installation - so try to do them all at once - it will be much more cost effective.  Expect to pay in the range of 30-50 per fixture for a simple installation, excluding the fixture and charges to come to the house.
