How expensive is it to keep an eternal flame running?

Question

With rising gas prices in mind, what does it cost to keep an eternal flame, like the one in Arlington National Cemetery, running?

In no way is this meant to be disrespectful to the memorials that are maintained with an eternal flame. Purely just a curious wondering.

it costs about the same as a 500 watt spotlight to keep it burning at Arlington Cemetery, so less than lighting up the washington monument, a 2 block area of a city...

The expense depends on how many chemicals are there in it or how much the company gives price to it.

Does your hot water heater or stove have a pilot light? It isn't much more than those (4 or 5 times maybe). They aren't burning much but if the price keeps going up then who knows.
