I reallly want to move to London, or anywhere in England, for a couple of years after i finish college. How expensive would this be compared to living in america? Do people post ads looking for roomates? How would i go about finding this people, or just go about moving to England in the first place!

Thx 4 your time,

  1. it is so expensive that if you are not rich, you will absolutely need to find some people to rent a flat with them. Alone it will be really difficult to get the needed money.

You find them reading the classified ads.

  2. think of it this way, assuming you are from America, the dollar sucks right now. the economy is c**p so living there will be about 2 times as expensive as living here (about $2 < 1 pound)

    its pretty aweful...

of course, if u get a well paying job, you should be ok (need a work visa)

  3. It will depend mostly on the area where you want to live.  I live in London and I pay £730 (that's roughly $1450) a month in rent in an area that is reasonably decent.  Then there's added costs on top of that such as council tax, bills, transport costs, food, etc.

Have a look on www.gumtree.com and you can see the type of properties available for particular budgets.
