  1. you can!! is easy to find job here if you know the language.it is not very expensive ..kiss from tuscany.....(i live in arezzo)

  2. Tuscany is very expensive and an American can work there if they can find a local company in Tuscany that is willing to swear they are hiring that person because they can't find anyone locally who can do the work... and the American MUST get the job BEFORE the move to Tuscany.

That being said, it IS possible for an American to LIVE there, or anywhere else in Europe... it just takes a bit of thinking outside the box.  You can get a job with a cruise ship... those a 6 month contracts... then at the end of the 6 months, you can go to Europe... locate an apartment or a house you can buy and get it.. then go back on the ship for another 6 months... and live between the ship and Europe... and do it LEGALLY... because you are not working at a JOB in Europe... merely living there... and all you need to do that is be able to show that you have an independent income of $1000 to $1500 a month, depending on country, and get your resident alien status.

  3. ha hahah, just to let you know.. living in tuscany is not as glamorous as you see it in  the movies or you immagine......

wherever it is that you live .. you still have to get up in the morning go to work, get through the dirty, tourist metro system, clean the house.. do the daily chores.... capito!!!!

all that shines.. is not gold!!!

  4. It is fairly expensive to live in Tuscany. As with any country within the EU, with a US passport you cannot get a working VISA unless someone sponsors you, but you you can get pretty easily a student visa that allows you to legally work part-time.

This said, if you're planning on going there for a short term and just want to know if you'll be able to earn a couple of euros in the meantime, you'll have no problem in getting a job without papers (meaning you'll get your money under the cover, with no legal papers). Expecially in Florence, there are a lot Americans and you can easily find a job as a waitress, bartender (in both of these cases... forget the 20% tip you get in the States...!!), an English speaking baby sitter or even better, a teacher.

    Good luck!

  5. It's real cheap there and get a job as dich digger or bartender...
