  1. beachfront properties are usually more expensive than rentals away from the waters

  2. I live near the water (Manila Bay). The rent around the area is as low as P30,000 per month for a studio unit.

  3. That would depend on the type of water.

Homeless people who squat along canals/esteros actually live near the water, nay, either beside it or on top of it (with their houses protruding to the canals/esteros). And they do not pay a cent to live there.

Living near the sea or the lake will, again, depend on the location. There are A-1 resort-type subdivisions (not commercial resorts) offering land at/near the water. Absolute beachfront in Punta Fuego in Nasugbu, Batangas is more expensive than most real estate costs in the rest of the Philippines. Then there is Lakeshore in Pampanga, another good development and advertised in billboards (the Manny Pacquiao and Boy Abunda billboards) and if memory serves me right, also on TV, but the rates are expensive. Within Lakeshore, the lots beside the man-made lake are 50% more expensive than inland. You can also look for land in our most famous beach destination, Boracay. I have been offered land there (not absolute beachfront) and it is not expensive.

You could find very cheap property in provincial areas, and select a spot near the beach, and the cost to rent, lease or acquire is a pittance. The problem with these areas is accessibility. If you can give up the convenience of easy access to city comforts, you will find lots of these. For as low as P500 per square meter. You can even buy an island - - - there are still a few for sale in Palawan and in Surigao. Remember we have 7,107 islands. Try googling "islands for sale Philippines" and you will see several options.

Bottomline, the price can vary at an unbelievable range. Totally dependent on your taste, your budget, and your priorities.

    Happy hunting!

  4. Rent what? ... A four bedroom modern home, fully air conditioned with hot and cold running water and toilets that flush or a primitive bungalow?

  5.    Not much, if you are willing to live / rent in a remote fishing community.   10,000 to 15,000 pesos per month for basic

    expenses.

        Have a nice day !

  6. No, but it is quite difficult during high tide or rainy days.  Do you want to buy a parcel of land near the shore or river bank?

  7. depends on the location. there are a lot of seaside areas to choose from, the cheapest are those not in travel books or travel destinations.

try camiguin island there must be an in-land property for sell there or for rent for a reasonable amount of money and its surrounded w/ water.
