  1. i'm italian and i don't know if live here is expensive but i know i've always eat here!so i hope you'll be fine!

  2. I went to Trento of Italy for a month to see my boy friend last year, and I found that everything was more expensive than where I was living in Los Angeles.

My boy friend's studio apartment 4th floor without elevator, no air conditioner, no view, was euro 500/month. The food sold in  the local supermarket was around 20% higher than Los Angeles, for example, euro 2.00 for a mango over there, it was only $0.70 in LA.

The food served in resturants in Italy is smaller in portion than in the USA, and the price was either almost the same or higher than Los Angeles.

Overall, it seems easier to survive in the USA than in Italy, although I have heard that the rest of the cities are cheaper than Trento.

  3. I can't give you any specific information about Muggiano but what I can tell you is that if it's a small town rent should be quite low.  In Viterbo (population 60,000) I paid €150 a month including bills for my room in a huge apartment.  I shared with 3 girls but the place was enormous with parquet floors throughout.  I probably could have found an apartment to myself for about €300 a month.  The only thing I'd say is that it can be difficult to find an agency willing to rent to foreigners because they don't believe that you're going to stay.  You'll need to prove to them that you're staying for 2 years.

Eating out was very cheap and transport doesn't cost very much either.  Cost of groceries can really vary from place to place.

Are you looking for English speaking schools for your children?

Try this, it's all I could find:

Good luck with everything and enjoy your time in Italy :-)
