How extensive is the AT&T employment background/criminal check & what are they looking for?

AT&T will call to verify employment, not so much ask their opinion about your work ethic.  They will run a background check to make sure you don’t have any criminal offenses, and there is sometimes a drug test.  Other than that, it is not like the FBI or CIA.  If you made it to the background check, than you are in a good position to get the job.
