My first ultrasound was 7 1/2 weeks. It is usually at your first appt so you can get your due date. Usually between 7 and 10 weeks.

For finding out the s*x of the baby, it is usally scheduled around 17-20 weeks.

If you're talking about ultrasound to find the baby's gender it's 20 weeks, I know because I'm going for mine at the end of the month. Can't wait..yaaay

I had one at 4 weeks, it was too early to see anything, I had one at 6 weeks saw the heartbeat, and had one at 10 1/2 weeks and saw an actual baby! I am now 11 weeks and 5 days.

if you have any concerns beforehand (bleeding, cramps etc) they may give you one earlier.

Depends on your Doctor or midwife.  Some docs do an ultrasound immediately to confirm pregnancy, others wait until around 16-20 weeks for a complete scan.

Many midwives will allow you to go the entire pregnancy without an ultrasound if that is what you want.

It depends on the state your in, your insurance, and your doctor.  Some doctors will do a quick scan around weeks 6-10 and not charge if your insurance won't cover it.  Most insurance will only cover one ultrasound in a healthy pregnancy, this one they do between weeks 19 and 22, it is an anatomical scan where they measure EVERYTHING.

I am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant and my first ultrasound is at exactly 8 weeks. It is to confirm the due date and just to hear the heartbeat and make things are okay.

Im not sure if that is common but at the clinic I go to they said they always do it around that time. I can't wait!!!!

your first scan is about 10-13 wks pregnant then you have one at about 20 weeks you can have others depending on you and the pregnancy but these are the norm.

It really depends on your doctor and how far along you are when you find out that you are pregnant. The doctor I originally went to wanted to have one scheduled for 11 weeks - the new doctor I am seeing is doing one immediately so she can get measurements/ accurate due dates etc. I'm currently 14 weeks 3 days along.

So, usually within the first few appointments you get one.

They try to keep it right around 20 weeks but I was able to ask my doc if I could get it a couple of weeks early at week 18.  This way it is more likely you can see the s*x of the baby and they can make out all the body parts that they need to take pictures of.
