  1. i didnt even consider riding english until i had my mare for about a year and a half... like seriously i was sooooo stereotypical against riding english.. then i decided it would be fun so i got an english set for $120.. 5 months later i started jumping in november... then i had to stop for winter... and started back up this spring consecutively jumping 2'6" and i ended up clearing 3' in june but didnt try because i didnt want to push her until i was done with the show season in case something happened... the only opportunity i had to show her in jumping was a couple weeks ago and i got fourth in both of my jumping classes.. funny thing is i have only ever taken two lessons in my lifetime and i bought my horse as a rescue with no idea what her history was..

  2. ive been jumping for years and have only been to camp shows. i guess it depends on if your barn does shows (mine only does eventing) or if you have a horse to show.

  3. I had to be able to jump a course of 6 virticles before I could enter a w/t/c/j class. it was only cross rails but like my instructor said what happens if your horse throws something out thier you need to konw how to handle it. Also allways school higher then you are jumping at home. 99% of jumps are virticles.

  4. 2 years, I think.  But it was just a schooling show (I was never into showing).  Part of the 2 year thing had to do with the fact that they only had a schooling show once a year.  After 1 year I wasn't ready to jump so I had to wait a whole year more to show again, which was fine with me.

  5. I was riding for 5 years before i graced the show world over fences

  6. After about 4-5 months my istructer put me in a small local Hunter\Jumper show, I was only entered in like 2 classes one a w\t flat class the other a w\t cross poles class!

    Hope I helped!!!
