  3. Wine and Roses wiegelas can grow really large. I have one that is 6 years old and is 5 feet wide and 5 feet tall. Most wiegelas will grow this size in 3 - 5 years. If you want them as a hedge, then plant them tight, but not closer than 3 feet. If you want them as a looser backdrop then I suggest 4 - 6 feet apart.
