This might be a totally "out-there" question but I'm going to be flying into Madrid and then I have to get to Seville. I'm going to be taking the train to Seville. I'm really pumped about the fact that it will only take 2.5hrs to get there but I have no idea where the airport is in relation to the nearest train station in Madrid. Is it connected to the airport or very close by? Has anyone out there gone this route before?

  1. I'd take a taxi.

You can take the metro but you will have to change at Nuevos Ministerios and somewhere else.

You may also have to take a shuttle bus if you arrive at the 'wrong' terminal.

I took the metro last year. It was cheap.

Take a taxi or you might get lost!

  2. It depends on which train station.  There are two main ones, Atocha and Charmartin.  It sounds like you'll take the AVE high speed train since you'll get there in 2hrs, therefore you'll leave from Atocha.  The airport, called Barajas, isn't really close, but not too far either.  As far as I know, there isn't a shuttle (unless things have changed recently).  If you don't have a lot of luggage, the subway goes there and you can get there in less than a half an hour for only a couple euros.  Your other options are the bus and a cab.  Buses that leave from the airport actually aren't too bad; they even have luggage racks.  If you have a lot of luggage, a taxi may be the best way to go.  Good luck!

  3. You can catch the train at the airport
