How far back can palaeofire data be traced?

Traces of ancient fire go back for hundreds of millions of years, so none of those options make any sense whatsoever.  Should you be asking about fires made by humans, as opposed to natural fires -which first arose when plants became available on land as fuel stuff, then none of the three options make any sense whatsoever.  The domestic use of fire by people dates back well over a million years.

    I don't know the database, but I doubt they claim the list is complete if that's the case.  Should you be talking of North America, there are widespread deposits dating from 65 million years ago that are rich in ash that resulted from fires.  As you write 'palaeo', that more likely indicates the UK.  There are most definitely localities pre-dating 800AD with traces of natural and human-made fires in Britain.
