  1. If they are taking on water and can stabilize the inflow, as far as they have gone so far.   But they become unstable and tippy and can partially sink with bow or stern above the waterline. Enough displacement is keeping them somewhat afloat.  Big boats can't remain like this for long.   After that,  to the floor of the body of water.  The materials in the boat weigh too much to float after the displacement factor is gone.

You will see debris float though.

They do not sink midway down into the body of water and float around there.  At first I thought your question was less than bright, but then the more I tried to explain it, the more I thought how someone who had never done much boating would not know for sure.  So it really is a viable question!

How much of a cruise ship is below the water depends on how much of it is above the water. A cruise ship with fifteen passenger decks will have more of the ship below the water than a cruise ship with only ten passenger decks (the passengers are always above the water line - only the crew sleeps and works below the water line).

  4. Until it hits the bottom....Duh

  5. all the way to the bottom of the ocean

  6. if its sinking, all the way.

  7. to the bottom. however deep that may be. havent you seen titanic? lol

  8. Do you mean, how deep of water can they navigate?

If so, less than 20 ft for an average cruise ship
