What is the tipping point where a government or corporation will have you quietly terminated for stating your beliefs?

Right now we can say whatever we want about abortion.

We can say whatever we want about the Iraq war.

We can say whatever we want about stem cell research.

Are there any examples today, where if you talk about something too much, you will probably disappear from the planet?

  9. In the corporate world, generally you can experss your political beliefs in casual conversation and get away with it as long as you don't persist. If you do, then you may attract the attention of higher-ups who might look at your personel file and decide to hit the delete button.

In politics, you can speak the truth, but not too much of it, as long as you don't have a chance of winning any office. If you become a danger to them by hitting too many nails on the head, and gaining popularity, you could be processed quickly and efficiently, but attracting unwanted attention. Usually the government preferrs more subtle measures to make life difficult and bring you in line.

  10. Well, it's not really professional to requite one's beleifs in a professional place of business. It is good business to be a nice person though, so some moralistic beliefs have to come into play, however i find that people of certain basic social circles and brainwashing usually tend to prefer to work with one another, making for more longevity of position or job security in the workplace.

  11. These days, the world is getting a little too spooked and paranoid with any topic; religous, cultural, scientific...etc. But really if your in the right crowd of people talking on the same subject veiwing the same good points then the question should really be "What the heck is wrong with you paranoid people? And why can't you just have a normal conversation without thinking it's political!" Sorry mate but sometimes you just got to sit back and laugh at the world, no offence to you.

  12. You mean today? And this country?

  13. You can't say anything you want .... if that is you in  your picture then you are still very young and very naive and or really stupid....ok I'm teasing now. But never the less if you are trying to look smart then please do something about your picture.

Ok I'm also really grumpy this evening too and I think I should go to bed. Goodnight.

  14. Look at Abe Lincoln. He went through a whole war (and won) before he was knocked off.

  15. When you start rocking the super wealthy of this world, those who own most of the world and truly run it, you find yourself in a world of c**p.  Just ask JFK. . . . . . . .

  16. I think if you spoke about doing mass damage to any person or place especially a national ruler, and they thought you were even in the slightest serious, you might have your birthday taken away.  I know it's illegal the threaten the US president, but I don't know if you'd go missing over that, but you would see the inside of a jail cell and probably get to meet Bubba the Love Sponge.

  17. This is Leland. Maybe I woudn't have answered your question that way if you hadn't put such a stupid question. Thank you for answering. You sound like a caring person. It would be nice if their were more people that think like you.

  19. Jimmy Hoffa,he sleeps with the fishes

  20. I would have to say that it is possible with any situation. It will depend who you are voicing your opinions too though. Of you are against abotion and speaking of it to others who are against it, then you are preaching to the choir, but I bet if you went and stopped every abortion that was about to take place at a clinic for awhile, that one day you wouldn't be there to stop it. It also depends who you are. Most of us aren't in the position to be able to stop whatever it is we don't like, but for those that are in a position to stop something, I bet they don't get to say much before they are done away with.

  21. I would say that when you have information that is truly sensitive, you would become a target.  And..I mean REAL information, not half-baked theories.  For instance, if you had a memo from Bush to Bin Laden that said, "Sept. 11 is a go...", you would probably end up dead REAL fast....
