I've been harassed off and on by this guy for 5 years. We're friends sometimes but when something doesn't go his way he flips out and harasses me. A month ago was the final straw and I've stayed away from him. Today he texts me harassing me and I'm really fraking mad. I'm having my father call him before I do anything else but how far can it go? What's the least amount he can do before I call?

  1. As far as you feel is too far. You should have stopped this years ago.

  2. If you feel uncomfortable and threatened by this guy then go to the police station and file a complaint.  You can also file a restraining order.  In the mean time you can call the phone company and have his number blocked.  I would keep a copy of all his texts and e-mails.  You can also ask the phone company to send you a log of all your phone calls so you have proof of the dates and time he called you.  Change your phone number and ask that no one give your number to him. Use caller ID if it's him don't answer.

  3. Just get a restraining order

If he contacts you he goes to jail.

  4. If you requested the person to stop, you need to report it as soon as possible.  You do not want it to continue.  If you allow it to continue  it could escalate.  Reporting it is the first step and you need to keep going, do not back down.  Just beware it can get not so nice, but if you have the report it will help you in the long run.
