And how long does it take you to run a mile? I can run a mile in 6:45 and I can run non stop for 3 miles which isn't too great. How can I improve this?

  1. yalls miles are really slow!!!!   i could have done more but ive only did 10 miles

  2. Dude thats very good, your non-stop time is great, but if you really want some insane results, get your dirty lil paws on some steroids.

  3. I am 18 and I pushed myself to run a marathon (26.2 miles) in four hours, without much training.  My fastest mile time is 5:19 in high school.

  4. ive run a 6.32...

if you wanna run for longer periods of time run more...

but i dont think short fast workouts are gonna help you with running 5 miles

  5. I run between a 7 minute mile and an 8 minute mile, depending on how I'm feeling and how much I've worked out that week. I can run non stop for about seven miles on good days. I'm used to 3 miles though because that's the average for a Cross Country race. I tend to have energy after them and during the seven mile runs I'm not running my fastest more like half my race pace.

To get better though your workout has to vary. Take an LSD(Long Slow Distance) run of about 7-10 miles, go slow that's the point. This build stamina. One day do sprints or what are known as f**t Legs. This is where you sprint for about a minute, then jog for three, repeat for about three miles. You can also find a track where 4 laps is a mile. Run 200 at sprint, then walk the rest of the lap. Then run 400. Walk a bit. Run 600, walk. 800, walk. then 600, 400, and 200 with walking in between. This builds on your kick and stamina.

Run long distances at different paces and on different terrain to build your leg muscles. Drink plenty of water, eat healthy, and stretch and message muscles daily.

Know this too, is you rest for two days straight you'll lose what you did the two days previous. Anymore running questions let me know.
