I had to have my transmittion fixed but the only problem is that I have to travel 45 to where I work. I have a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo with 158,000 miles. When can I start traveling for 45 minutes after I had just had it fixed? Buying another car is not an option. I need an expert on this or someone who knows what they are talking about. Thanks

  1. There are no restrictions or limitations while driving a newly rebuilt transmission, unlike a newly rebuilt engine. You can start driving normally, with mileage being no restraint.

  2. If it's FIXED, you should be able to run the car as usual.

  3. if it was fixed, shouldn't it be good as new? but I have heard of "breaking in" a newly overhauled engine. contact your mechanic. he should know more about your vehicle.

  4. If you want to break in the transmision, look in your owners manual for new car break-in recommendations. If you no longer have the manual just drive gently no fast starts, keep a moderate speed for a few trips and you should be fine.

  5. STIMULATION!!!!,

No not the kind your thinking of.....

Cars are pretty much sleep chambers on wheels, the constant droning of the engine and road make it a tough go to stay awake. Drink a coffee, talk alot, make the car cold inside, do something to entertain yourself with your husband. Buy a portable dvd player and bring some movies to watch.

  6. If you've had your transmission fixed, you should be able to go anywhere you want, as far as you want.  Isn't that the point?  If it's not working properly-- not allowing you to use your car, then you should take it back and demand that for the money you spent to fix the transmission right.

  7. You should be able to drive it as far as you want.  Isn't that why you had it repaired?

  8. Done correctly then you can drive it anywhere that you want to.
