  1. As far as I am aware, they glide, not fly. They do this to avoid predators. They can glide up to 180m.

  4. I'm not real sure on how far, but I seen a video and they seen one flying for about 45 seconds. They said it was the longest flight of a fish ever seen.

  5. Well it all depends.  You see there are 50 species of flying fish.  Some are small, some are large.  They have been recorded going as far as 100 meters, 330 feet.  They don't really fly, they glide.  They don't flap their fins.  However some species do use their tails to help gain more speed.
