How far do sport bikes ride in a day?

Question

I live in Texas and work on short term ( 6 mo. to 1 year) projects all over the US. I also ride my Road King to every state I work in and back home. I average about 15K a year on my bike. I love long rides on back roads. In places like The Tail of the Dragon I see all the sport bikes in one place. Will a sport bike rider ride 500, 700 or 1000 miles in one day? How far have you rode in 24hr?

sure, it depends on what is on the other side.... I rode my gsxr 1100 in japan 700 miles in one day....

when I first got that bike i put 3500 on it the first 7 days. I had it for 2 years and put 38000 miles on it. (and japans gas was 5 dollars a gallon then)

I recently came back from tail of the dragon.... from florida, but we towed the bikes there. but we did about 400 miles a day for a week. I was in daytona this year too. and almost ALL the harley riders I saw (and others) towed the bikes in. I'm from the tampa area now and didn't see too many bikers this year riding over.

I guess it's all a personal choice. (and what's on the other side)

My longest ride was 1100 miles in one day on a Kawasaki Ninja, my tail end was rather sore at the end of that day.  I have made a lot of other rides of 700 and even 900 in one day, but that 1100 was brutal.  I stopped about every hour for a walk around.

This was on a 1990 ninja 600r, the seat does not exactly have a lot of foam on it.  a lot of other sport bikes are more comfortable.

A "good long drive" for me on that bike was about 300 tops.  Of course on a ninja in Germany at that time, that ride could have been under 3 hours easily, maybe even under 2.  <laugh>  So it could also be relative.  The 1100 mile one though was WA to CA on I-5. Ouch.

1,430 Km.. so about 900 miles in 23 hours non stop Sydney to Adelaide (Australia)..

was in winter so had to keep stopping to thaw out...LOL

but regularly ride Adelaide to Roxby Downs,,   620 Km,, about

400 miles  in 6 hours...

The most Ive done on my sportbike was 450. And I was BEAT afterwards...

They arent made for straight line running, thats for sure. But, thats not what Im into, so I could care less.
