Yellow Brick Road

Is a road made of yellow bricks

Destination distant

Wherever you want to go

Paths diverge

Wishing to become the same

You chose which way

Your path will lead

When you will rest

How fast you will go

People you meet

Will want to distract you

Don’t let them

Steal the bricks from under you

Wear sensible shoes and

Always be watching for the next signpost

Just keep moving forward

Once you get there, send me a postcard

We do choose our own paths, what road we take is the outcome. where was this poem when I was 16.
