  1. if you sit like right in front of it, it wont be good for your eyes at all

  2. It's been proven in surveys that people who sat around 2-7 feet away from a 40inch or larger television screen suffered bad eye damage, and that 8-12 feet away will cause you slight problems with your eyes. However if you sit more than 13 feet away your eyes will most likely suffer no damage whatsoever and you will still get an excellent picture with your television.

  3. i wouldn't sit closer the 6 feet but optimum for me would be about 10 to 12 feet

  4. You'll note the "eye damage" claim has no links, because it's complete rubbish.

For a 46" 1080p set you will want to sit between 5-7 feet to appreciate the benefits of 1080p sources like Blu-ray.

If you are watching DVD or standard definition broadcasts only then you can sit wherever you want.

At around 10ft the difference between 720p and 1080p sources will become unresolvable to most human eyes.
