Looks like it varies state to state...Here in CA, it's NO PARKING within 15 feet of either the fire hydrant or the driveway to a firehouse...Usually the 'no parking' area is marked in red...If a vehicle is blocking a hydrant during a fire, the fire dept has dramatic ways to gain access to the hydrant...And they don't involve moving the vehicle.

  7. Depends on your state because some say 30 feet and some say 50 feet, best to contact your local police and or fire departments.....................

  8. If you park a vehicle near a hydrant and it needs to be used in an emergency the last thing anyone will worry about is your car. Don`t park anywhere near one. Nuff said.

  9. Not a problem in the UK where the fire hyrdrants are below ground under the pavements (sidewalk).
