I would suspect that if they have a mate and a permenent nest with eggs/hatchlings they would never stray far from the nest except to find food. But if they are calling to each other ie: warnings, where are you? If that's what you are asking, I'm not sure. Obviously louder, more shrill calls are going to carry farther.
