How far has science and technology influence you personally, as a teacher, and as a people in your society?

Great influence to include many valuable experiences for students in the classroom; instant news coverage of Iraq help inform people of the war;  cell phone affords quick reach across the globe to family and friends.

But, I miss snail mail bday cards and photos, real face-to-face chats with my local friends who now have side jobs via internet services, and trying to get people to tuck everything away long enough to go on a vacation is difficult.  I continue to send bday cards and photos via snailmail, call people for coffee and chat near work, and offer vacation plans to consider.  Now I jog solo with my ipod!

i come to hate the fact that our world pendens on technology. and we are very vulnerable. some day i would like to build a house in the middle of the woods and watch the world distroy its self.
