How far in advance can a dog predict a quake. Is it several weeks or just hours?

  1. There is no firm evidence that animals can predict quakes in advance. If they can, it is probably on the basis of sounds inaudible to the human ear and thus the dog's prediction would be at most a few seconds ahead of the actual event being felt by humans. It certainly would not be weeks, and it is most unlikely to be even minutes ahead, let alone hours. If an animal is aware ahead of a human, it would indicate by some form of abnormal behavior.
