  1. I'm getting married on the labor day weekend of next year (Sept 09) and I am planning on sending mine out right after this labor day.

  2. Usually it's 6mos. 9mos. or 12mos. before the wedding. It's really your choice and depends on how many out of town guests you are inviting because they definitely need the extra heads up to make arrangements. But make sure not to send them out until your venue, date and location are set in stone. And I know this probably goes with out saying but, don't send any save-the-dates to people who are not getting invites to the wedding. I've known people who have just gotton so excited they were getting married that they sent them out to everyone they knew and half the people weren't even invited to the actual wedding, it was a mess.  Good Luck!!!

  3. hey! I actually just ordered mine, plan on sending them out within the next month or so. I figure save the dates now, then the invitations I will send out around late february.

  4. I would do probably 6-9 months in advance. You can find timelines online for when to send stuff out. Congrats on the wedding!

  5. Send them out with enough time that your out-of-town guests can make travel arrangements before they get the official invitation. Usually, the guideline is 9-12 months in advance, so it's actually not too early. It is too early for the full invitation, though, so send the save-the-dates now and wait a little bit before sending out invites.

  6. I am not getting married until next July and sent mine out last week.  With plane tickets and gas going up so much I want people to have plenty of time to find tickets.

  7. 6-12 months in advance is fine for sending them.

    Send 'em anytime you want!!

  8. Whenever really, the whole idea of the save the date magnets is for that. So send them now it won't really matter.

  9. I'm getting married a month before you (April 17th, 2009!) and I am in the same situation: have my magnets, put them in the envelopes, stuck on the labels, and now they are just sitting there.  I felt that it was silly to send them out earlier than now, so I plan on sending mine toward the middle-end of September, 6-7 months before.  That seems like a good time frame.  If you ask me, I would send yours out sometime at the beginning of October.

Good luck and congratulations on your wedding!!!

  10. I sent mine with my Christmas cards to save on stamps.

  11. Send them out now.  The whole idea of a "save the date" is to send them out as early as possible so people reserve the dates on their calendars and don't plan to do anything else on your wedding day.

May and June are popluar months for other functions like proms and other weddings, so if you want these people to come to your wedding instead, get those magnets out in the mail.

    Good luck!

  12. Usually 9-12 months in advance, so you can send them now, especially if you have a lot of out-of-town guests.

  13. it might be too early now, but i think around october you should send them.  take this time to already start writing out the envelopes, ready to be mailed so whent the time comes you just throw them in a mail box.  i wouldnt do later than oct. thats my opinion

  14. About a year in advance, a few months earlier than that if heavy travel is required. We're getting married in September '09, and are sending our save-the-dates after Labor Day when we get them back from the printer.

It's never too early to allow your guests the luxury of advanced notification. many people like to know ahead of time to arrange for sitters, time off work if necessary, etc.
