  1. Looks like the year before. Next years tickets are on sale now. Here is the arrangement for next years tattoo. It will be similar for 2010. Log on to their website this time next year.

The Tattoo in 2009 will take place over the period 7-29 August with performances on Monday to Friday at 9.00pm and on Saturday at 7.30pm and 10.30pm. There is no performance on Sunday.

POSTAL BOOKINGS, which must be accompanied by full payment, should reach us no later than Friday 7 November 2008. Order processing will commence on Monday 1 December 2008. Bookings should be made using the POSTAL TICKET ORDER FORM, which can be downloaded from our website, and sent to The Tattoo Office, 32 Market Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1QB. No acknowledgement of receipt of your order will be made. Please help us to help you and indicate as many alternatives as possible. Confirmation of your order will be sent only to an e-mail address provided by you.

INTERNET BOOKINGS, via our secure server at www.edintattoo.co.uk, will be accepted from 10.00am (GMT) on Monday 1 December 2008 and will be limited to 8 tickets per household. Multiple bookings which exceed this limit will be cancelled without notification. £3.00 booking fee per transaction. Best available seats, on the specified date and at the specified price, will be allocated to you at the time of booking. Should you have any special requirements, however, such as disabled seating, aisle seats or lower tier seating then you should submit a postal booking indicating your specific requirements in the "Special Instructions" area on the booking form. Internet bookings will not be accepted on the day of performance.

TELEPHONE BOOKINGS, on 0131 225 1188 (if calling from overseas dial 00 44 131 225 1188), will be accepted from 10.00am on Monday 8 December 2008, and only when paying by Credit/Debit card, but not on the day of performance. £3.00 booking fee per transaction.

COUNTER BOOKINGS will be accepted from 10.00am (GMT) on Wednesday 17 December 2008 at The Tattoo Ticket Sales Office, 33-34 Market Street, Edinburgh. Office hours are Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 4.30pm. On performance days the office is open from 10.00am until the start of the performance.

We regret we are unable to accept FAX and E-MAIL bookings under any circumstances.

PAYMENT can be made by Visa (not Electron), MasterCard, American Express, Maestro/Switch, Delta or Solo. Your signature is required (Postal and Counter bookings only) together with the Card number, expiry date, valid-from date, three-digit security code and Issue number (where applicable). Alternatively, you may wish to pay by cheque made payable to the Edinburgh Military Tattoo with the amount left blank, but with a maximum amount indicated underneath your signature, to speed up the processing of your order. Remittances from overseas may be made in the form of an International Money Order in Pounds Sterling drawn on a UK clearing bank, otherwise payment will be returned.

TICKET DESPATCH will commence in April 2009 in process date order. Given the high volume of orders, please allow at least 28 days from this time for receipt of tickets. Thereafter, tickets will be despatched within 28 days of receipt of order. Where payment is made by Credit/Debit card (except Counter bookings) tickets will be despatched only to the billing address of the cardholder or held for collection by the named cardholder [on presentation of the card used to make the transaction] anytime during office hours after 1 April 2009 at the Tattoo Ticket Sales Office, 33-34 Market Street, Edinburgh. The cardholder's signature will be required before tickets are released. Tickets for a performance within 7 days (14 days for non-UK addresses) will be held for collection at the Tattoo Ticket Sales Office.

  2. you can purchase tickets from now, earlier you get then at least you can plan that you are defo0 going, you can buy them on the day there are lots of people selling them on the day of the show but you have to becareful for fakes, but i suggest checking online for when they are realised xxxx

  3. Tickets for the Tattoo go really quickly although this year (2008), there were still some tickets available in January. The first time in a decade this has happened.

Postal bookings for tickets for the Tattoo in 2009 have to be in by 7th November 2008 for processing on the 1st December 2008.

Internet bookings begin on the 1st December 2008.

Telephone bookings begin on the 8th December 2008 and Counter. bookings begin on 17th December 2008.

The first to have their orders processed are the postal bookings, so you best best bet to guarantee a ticket would be to use the postal method. Check the Tattoo website next year towards the end of the Tattoo (last week of August) to find the dates for applying.

  4. get the tickets FAST
