  1. cruise pricing is like airline pricing.  The rates can go up and down on a daily basis as the cruise lines see how well or how not so well the cruise is selling. In the cruise world,  last minute usally means 75-90 days out (that is when the cancellation penalties kick in).  Sometimes, they will drop the prices if there are a high number of cancellations.

  2. At least five months to get a good price and passport if you don't already have it. Good luck and have fun!

  3. How much money do you have?  I'm told that the earlier you book, the better discount you get.  We did one years ago where we booked a year before the cruise left, and paid a few hundred dollars each month.  We saved several hundred dollars that way, and got upgraded to a better cabin at least once, maybe twice.

  4. Some people go for "early bird discounts" by booking well in advance, but many people swear by last minute bargains by leaving things to the last minute. As you don't have to worry about international flights, etc., perhaps you could leave it until the last minute and see what's on offer. However, if you do it that way, be warned that plenty of other people are doing the same, so it doesn't pay to hang about too long! http://www.vacationstogo.com/index.cfm?s...

  5. Book early like months in advance because my friend did that for our cruise and she got a lot back in credit for the gas money.  Trust me you save more when you book in advance.
