How far in advance should you book a flight?

I need to book a flight from South Florida to Savannah, Georgia. I'm taking the trip in early July. My dad wants to know how far in advance we should book the flight and if the price would change between now and 2 weeks from now.

if you go to travelocity, you can go to the last minute packages and they always sell the air fare and a hotel for a really great price. it's their way of filling up rooms and air seats at the last minute. if i were you and the trip wasn't very dire, then i would totally wait last minute to book it....probably about 5 days before.

If you know when you want to travel, why wait? The spaces may disappear, and the fare may go up.

considering gas prices air is only gonna go up and last minute is usually a higher price . i would book at least 3 weeks in advance
