  1. Yes, the puente aéreo is good as there are flights all day non-stop but quite expensive. If you want to fly, get a ticket in advance which will be cheaper.

Airline companies: Iberia, Air Europa, Spanair and Vueling (cheapest).

Train is operated by Renfe (www.renfe.es). High speed train is under construction but operates half way. You can get the one that uses the high speed rail which should take 4 or 5 hours. I guess you are stopping in Barcelona-Sants which is the main station. In November this year, a new stretch will be open and the high speed one should take 3,5 hours. At the end of 2007, the high speed train (300 km/h), will be operating all the way, and should take less than 3 hours to communicate both cities. For prices and timetables check, www.renfe.es.

If you have money get a plane, because now the difference in time is too much. Once the high speed train operates all the way, get the train as it's worthy: it brings you from city center to city center, you don't lose baggage, always on time, can use mobile phone,....I prefer train to planes but I'd use the plane as it's quicker now.

I don't recommend it, but if you wanna check buses, www.alsa.es. They are slower and less comfortable than the train.

  2. The distance is 300 air miles

The flight take 1 hour 10 mins

My guess bt train is - 8 hours

  3. Of course, you've got a train from Madrid to Barcelona. It's a high speed train which is just 3 years old. I don't exactly fares and distances but you can check it at www.renfe.es

  4. about 380 miles and about 5 1/ 2 hours in a car but I don't know about a train

  5. About 315 miles. There are trains (long ride), but the 1-hour shuttle flight is your best bet. It's called "puente aereo" (air bridge). They operate continuously, no reservation needed, just go to the airport and get on the plane! Operated by Iberia. There are also a lot of other MAD-BCN flights; many budget airlines are REALLY cheap.

  6. not sure how far. takes like 2 hrs by train i think
