Got a job from Dubai and would like to find out if it is a safe and not expensive country to leave in. Is it a country or town and how much can l expect from a hotel job. l live in Zimbabwe and would also want to know if l will be able to get back to see my family and friends at least yearly. How do l go about it to negotiate for an air ticket back to my country every end of year? l sent a similar question sometime ago and so many answers needed me to specify my nationality and more details. Anyone with an idea whether it will be possible to take my wife with me after a year of residence in Dubai and if it wont cost me much money?

Blessings to all who will reply.

  1. Dubai is the largest city in the UAE,The United Arab Emirates.Middle Eastern federation of seven states situated in the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula in Southwest Asia on the Persian Gulf, bordering Oman and Saudi Arabia. The seven states, termed emirates, are Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain.

the pay scale should much higher then any country in Africa, but it is subject to what kind of citizen ship you have, western countries tend to receive higher wages the Eastern and African nations. it is very expensive for the common person. however, if you have college degree and you should do fine. the native language is Arabic , but English is the business language. in regard to you wife you are entitled to bring you wife and she can stay on your residency visa as long as you are working.but it can be very expensive on a hotel pay, " depends on your pay".

    good luck

  2. Dubai is one of the major cities and Emirates of the United Arab Emirates.  It is on the Persian Gulf, and is bordered by Saudi Arabia.  It is a short distance from Iran.

Dubai's prices are perhaps comparable to that of London or New York City.

It is a big metropolitan city, and is rapidly becoming a major economic player in the world.  It is becoming very developed.  You can easily get to Dubai from any major international airport in the world.....Emirates Airways, the flagship airlines, is one of the top rated airlines worldwide.

The language of business in Dubai is primarily English.

  3. If you go to http://www.ipl.org and look it over, you will discover a section with encyclopedias and that would be an excellent resource for information.

Also.. magzines that may have something that would interest you.  Also newspapers and at least some of them are in English, and done in Dubai.

If you go to http://www.findarticles.com and ask for Dubai, you will come up with a pretty good list of current articles.

I would like to suggest very strongly you look those resources over before you go.  You will enjoy working there... know the customs before you go and your experience will be very good.  In fact, the experience will provide you with a significant edge in coming job offers.  'Tis worth doing.

  4. Dubai is one of the economic powerhouses and rising stars of the Middle East. It is located in the southeast of the Arabian peninsula on the coast of the Persian Gulf, and shares borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman. It's a stunning place. Dubai is a safe place to live in but it is pretty expensive. Of course if you work there, you also get paid accordingly so you can survive there.

If you can get a work visa to Dubai, then of course you could return to see your family every year.

But are you sure you got a genuine job offer from Dubai? It's common for scammers and crooks to send false job offers to unsuspecting people around the world and while it may look real, it may not be. Did you apply for a job in Dubai? If you didn't, then I do not think that somebody randomly decided that you would be a good candidate and randomly offered to hire you. Please consider that, especially if you talk to them and they start asking for money for whatever reason.
