How far is Houston Hobby Airport from Houston International Airport?

I am trying to figure out the distance since Continental Airlines does not fly to Hobby from NY

Do you mean George Bush Intercontinental Airport?

If so, from Hobby to Intercontinental it's about 40 minutes.

As others have said, they are not horribly far from each other, but they are on opposite ends of the city.

Hobby is located South of the 610 Loop and the Downtown area, while IAH is North of 610 and Downtown.

I always fly Continental and therefore into IAH. IAH is a nicer, and much newer airport. If you do have trouble in new places, crowded public places, etc, then Hobby would be better. Hobby is pretty self explanatory as to where to go. I've flown Southwest from there a couple times because it is so cheap and great for short flights.

Its pretty far. not terribly far or anything, but a fair amount. It takes me about 30minutes to get to Hobby(HOU) from my house. Intercontinental (IAH) can take well over an hour. I would estimate that it would be about a 30-45min plus drive between the two.

the first answer of 45 minutes is without the traffic and taking Belt way 8. otherwise, it can take close to 1 1/2 hrs between the two due to the traffic and construction. You could just take a hopper plane from hobby to bush (continental offer's this)

Not too far, but expect some traffic at I-45 and 610.

The easiest way is to take I-45 NB all the way to US-59. Take the US-59 North exit toward Cleveland(Eastex Freeway, if you go South, you'll be on the Southwest Freeway). Continue on US-59 and exit Will Clayton Pkwy. Take a left on Will Clayton Pkwy and keep straight. Bush Intercontinental is straight ahead.

Put it this way. Houston IAH is on the far north side & Hobby is on the south side south of downtown as well.
