  1. To get to Capri from Rome you need to take a train to naples and then the Ferry to capri, it's a bit much to do in one day. for timetables you can check www.trenitalia.it, and http://www.informare.it for the ferry times

  2. By all means, don't miss Capri. It is located on the Amalfi Coast, and about 2 hours from Rome. You can get there by train, or take a day trip or overnight from Rome. Go to the American Express office next to the Spanish Steps. They sell excursions that can get you there and back without worry. Capri is a ferry ride from the mainland (cliffs). La Costiera Amalfitana is one of the worlds most beautiful natural wonders. Go and it will call you back again and again.

  3. If you go to the page below there is a multimap link map. Looks closer to Naples. Fly?

  4. About 210 Kilometres from Rome.

  5. Its about a 3 hour train ride from Rome to Naples. In Naples you take the vaporetto, which is about a 40 inute ride and then you are at Capri.

Capri its a beutiful island but other than boutiques and the Villa San Michelle there is not much of historical sightseeing or turistst visits such as museums or antique constructions.

For the last 8 years I have vacationed in Capri for about 3 weeks every year. I have greatly enjoyed my stays in Capri but if you ask if I would visit Capri solely for the day I would not do it, because with that you don't experience the Capri way of life and there are many other more interesting things in Italy to visit for the day.

I'll try to give you an example of what I mean by experiencing Capri's Dolce Vita. Usually during daytime people who are staying in Capri either stay at their villas or hotel and lay on the pool and after 6'O Clock in the evening, when turists for the day leave the island, that's when the Capri lifestyle starts to happen. people get out of their hotels or villas and walk around the strets to visit the stores and then go to a restaurant for diner and afterwards to either Aniema e cuore or Guarraccinos night clubs, and that's when you can feel and experience Capri.
