How far is Sharjah from Dubai?

If we stay in Sharjah for a holiday, is it easy to drive to Dubai and back?

since rates are low in summer i suggest you stay in Dubai instead of spending time on the road from sharjah to Dubai!

You can drive back and forth from Sharjah to Dubai, it's about 30km from Sharjah to the Mall of Emirates for example.

The big problem will be the traffic.  Many people commute from Sharjah to Dubai for work so it can take over an hour to travel that distance.  Another issue is if you want to take a taxi.  Many taxi drivers in Dubai will refuse to take you to Sharjah because they don't want to deal with the traffic or go that far from Dubai.

I would say if you have your own car and some patience it would work, but if it were me I'd stay in Dubai if at all possible.   Summer is the slow seasons and hotels are offering good deals right now.
