  1. it's walking distance from a lot of monuments:

Altare della Patria, Colosseo, Piazza Venezia, Capitolium and Musei Capitolini,.....

  2. Hello,

Trastevere is just across the river from the center of Rome.  Depending on where you are staying you could walk.  If you are not close to the river you may want to take a bus or a cab into the city.  Check with your hotel about buses that stop in your area.  If you are close to the river, you just cross it and you will be in the heart of Rome.  Everything is very close so you shouldn't have problems.

  3. Remember people this person has 2 LITTLE kids.

I agree it depends on what you mean by the "center of Rome". I remember when my kids were that little they didn't want to walk too far, plus you will do a lot of walking once you get to that section. You can take a bus over there.

  4. From the zone of Piazza Venezia it is quite near: you can walk Piazza Venezia-Largo Torre Argentina-Via Arenula-Ponte Garibaldi or Piazza Venezia-Teatro di Marcello-Piazza Bocca della Verità-Isola Tiberina... both ways may take 20-25 minutes.

But if you mean from Termini, it is actually too far to walk.
