Yelagiri hills are just 40 kilometers from vellore. it is near Vaniyambadi. There is no fecility to stay and no proper hotels..better you can go and return after seeing the hills immediately. From chennai it is 165 kilometers distance. it is my personal opinion that it is not worth going there.

Yelagiri is useful for one day trips. Catch the coimbatore train early in the morning.Get down at jolarpettai, catch a bus to yelagiri. Not much sightseeing except for boating and the views.

there is a temple also.

Should be fun if you go with a group of people and love trekking.

Yelagiri is just after Jolarpetai and by road it would take you 4-5hours. It is a quite hill station and does not much hotels etc. There is a lake too.

accomadation; Y M C A or Home stay

NOT WORTH for busy tourist
