  1. There is a direct train service from Rome to Assisi. The ride takes 1hr57 minutes by 'Eurosta' train ... excellent service.

Check-out www.trenitalia.com for schedules and prices.

Enjoy Assisi, a great place and make sure you have a chance to stay overnight - it is such a nice experience to see the city once all the tourists have gone...

  2. There are only two Eurostars a day that go directly from Rome to Assisi. One arrives in Assisi at 3:32 pm and the other at 9:34 pm. these are fine if you're staying in Assisi overnight, but not very useful for a day trip. Staying overnight is a good option if you have the time in your schedule.

There are also earlier options from Rome. There are a few direct regional trains that cost 9.40 euro 2nd class. You can also take either a Eurostar or a regional train to Foligno and change to a train to Assisi. The cost for this option is also 9.40 using regional trains or 16.95 euro using a Eurostar as far as Foligno. The regional trains take 20 to 30 minutes longer. The two direct Eurostars cost 17.10. All the above prices are in 2nd class.

You can check specific times and prices at: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

  3. GIVE OR TAKE ABOUT 15HOURS BY TRAIN.
