Its quite  a distance really you couldnt walk it.  There are two railway stations in Wigan Western and Wallgate.   Western is for Preston Blackpool and the North, Warrington southwards and Liverpool.  Wallgate for Manchester and Southport.  Both stations are quite close, you can see on from the other.

firstly there is no station at goldbourne . By car it is roughly 15 minutes to wigan depending on traffic. To be honest you if you are travelling to or from Goldbourne then the nearest railway station is Newton  Le willows .
