The stadium is pretty far south in the DF. It's just north of the perferico or what we usually call a beltway.  It's about 12 miles as the crow flies, and probably 18-20 miles driving around the perferico.

    There is inter-city buses at the airport, but not local bus service. There is a subway at the airport, but I wouldn't recommend taking it with any kind of luggage. The subway can be dangerous. In addition you would have to take three different subway lines, plus a light rail to get to the stadium.

     The city is very difficult to drive on your own. I wouldn't recommend it. Traffic is horrible, accidents are very common, parking is difficult and expensive and the police are constantly shaking down foreigners. Even if you speak Spanish and are a Latino you are not exempt.

      "Authorized Taxis" are safe at the airport and relatively inexpensive by international standards. Just go to the designated stand (don't hire a taxi on your own, that could be dangerous). The stand is at the far end of the airport. You prepay at the booth, and then hand a ticket to your taxi driver. Taxi fares are based on 16 different zones and can go as high as 550 pesos or 965 pesos for a van, but I think that Azteca stadium would be  less than the maximum. I have never seen an online map of the zones, so I'm not sure what zone the stadium is in. (It probbly won't be lower than 1/3 off the maximum price). If you are determined to save money you can leave the airport, and look for a cheap taxi.

    The .pdf file has a one page map of Mexico City which unfortunately stops short of Azteca stadium. It's off of Calzado del Tlalpan just north of the perferico. Online maps usually don't include the stadium.

The Fiesta Inn Perferico Sur is about a miles from the stadium and would offer you hotel rooms equivalent to northern american hotels.

Its about 30 minutes, you have too look for Tlalpan Avenue, this avenue takes you straight to the Aztec Stadium. Good Luck.
