How far is the city center from the Celebrity Cruise dock in Cork, Ireland?

We are wondering if we will be able to walk off of the ship and find interesting things to do or if we will need to take a taxi to get to the city center. We just want to do some sight seeing and maybe shopping. What do you advise?
