How far is the closest surf spot in NYC and how far is it by subway?

Do a lot of ppl from NYC surf ? seems a hassle to go on the subway with your board all the time.

I might move from California to NYC and need some information on this. thank you !

Try Rockaway Beach in the borough of Queens. This is reachable by subway. The length of the trip depends on where you are starting from. You can also try Jones Beach or Long Beach in Nassau County. You can get there by bus and I imagine that it would take about 45 minutes from Manhattan.

first of fall dont move from california. and if u do then the best beach is here in gilgo. i live on lomg island and a lot of frinds go to jones but gilgo has the best waves. and robert moses has some nice waves as well and u can take a bus right across my school since its only 10 min away. gooluck and have fun in the waves. but listin to me and stay in california cause i will be moving there in 2 years
