  1. Probably about 3 miles.  See http://boatsafe.com/tools/horizon.htm

    and

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horizon

  2. If you are 6 feet then about 14 miles away.

  3. Its 22 Miles because after that the horizon follows the curvature of the earth

  4. 13 miles.

  5. It's 3 miles approximately.

  6. has far as you can see

  7. about 12 miles

  8. a long long way

  9. y+z-c+5.6%=distance

  10. Depends where you are standing, how tall you are, high tide or low tide? At sea level, say 6' tall, it would be about 15-20 miles (this is approximate)

  11. about 10km (6 miles)

  12. From the coast of north Essex (facing south east) you can just see on the horizon the rotating generators of the wind farm at Herne Bay in Kent.  These are 40 miles away so that must be the distance of the horizon.  Or does the height of the rotor arms affect this?

  13. you can never reach the horizon

  14. depends how tall you are, and how good your vision is.

  15. 22 miles

  16. Of course it depends of your height, but whatever it's definitely about 5 km (3 miles). I found an example:

"For an observer standing on the ground with h = 1.70 m (average eye-level height), the horizon appears at a distance of 4.7 km"

  17. Depends on how tall you are.

  18. Bob beat me too it. It varies tremendously (and rapidly) with the change in height about sea level.

5ft to 6ft is a difference of something like 4 miles (if memory serves me correct).
