  1. 40m is h**l good but about 55m is wat most footy players can kick

  2. It doesn't matter how far you can kick it.   (well maybe to a certain degree!)   What matters most is what you do with it.   Ball skills are more important than anything else.   What's the point of kicking it 40 metres if it goes straight to the opposition?

  3. sounds pretty good

  4. thats pretty good i play full back for 14 a's and kick 45 meters droppunt but i can kick about 47,48 with a perfect torpe

  5. That's ok if you are libba or tony Shaw, but if you are fair dinkum mate, you have to be able to kick at least 50,  I'm 46 and i can still kick a footy 40 meters.  work on technique, not power, hit it in the right spot with a nice smooth action, you will see it will get bigger with practice.

  6. A lot of players in the afl don't have a very long kicking range, so I'd say that 40m sounds pretty good. Kicking range doesn't matter as much compared to other skills that you need.

  7. 40m will do it for a 16 year old. You'll be able to kick further as you grow older.

  8. 40m is pretty good but i play under 13's and at least 2 people in my team can kick 45m no bounces (Im not exaggerating) so maybe you should try getting it up to 50m

  9. your kick is only fair

if you have an accurate kick thats still a bit short

  10. You only need to be able to kick 15 - 20 metres to play Aussie rules football. Rarely do you see any of the players kicking further than that distance today. They just chip little kicks backwards (most of the time) & forwards (every now & then).

  11. I am not sure why you are so concerned about distance when accuracy is more important.

It does not matter if you are a full forward or a midfielder, you are required to do the following.

There are 3 kicks that you should be worried about

    1) Direct kick

    2) Kick into space

    3) Kick under pressure

    Direct kick

If you can kick more than 15 meters and is able to pinpoint a team mate on a lead then you are a rare footballer. How many times do we see turnovers in a game due to poor kicking? Missing a goal is bad enough, turnovers will cost you a goal.

    Kick into space

Requires you to judge the distance and pace your team mate is running to so you can kick the ball into that space eg Pagan's paddock

    Kick under pressure

How well do you kick under pressure either by passing or kicking for goal?

    .

  12. I agree that it's technique, not power. A good example is Nick Davis. I don't want to debate his intensity on the field but he can kick the ball straight a long long way. He has the perfect kicking style and he's not very big.

  13. it is called AFL(the big league), but yes VFL is the second league

you would probably be wanting to be able to kick around 50 metres like i know a good 12 year old who can kick 40metres though
