  1. For me, I am a 2 handicapper that's played for 4 years.

    My distance are

    Driver - 300~330 yards

    3 Wood - 275 yards

    3 iron - 235 yards

    4 iron - 220 yards

    5 iron - 205 yards

    6 iron - 195 yards

    7 iron - 180 yards

    8 iron - 170 yards

    9 iron - 160 yards

    P wedge - 140 yards

    G wedge - 125 yards

    S Wedge - 115 yards

    L Wedge - 100 yards

Now, I am hitting these distances above sea level.

if you are in sea level, you should take about 10% to 15% off

    Hope it helped

  2. There is no magic number. There are a ton of factors that have nothing to do with your swing. Clubs, balls, where you are, time of year and so on, can all affect distance. I carry my 7 iron 150 in March and 185 in august. The best thing to do is find your average carry. Don't do it at a driving range, as those balls are usually dead. Hit each club ten times on a wet day with no roll, and figure out the average, and go from there.

  3. An average player hits a 7 iron 150.

  4. You should be hitting each club as far as they will go with a comfortable, smooth swing.  Do not get worried about how far they go compared to anyone else.  You should practice each club in different conditions to get a feel for how far YOU hit them.

A smooth 5-iron on the green is better than a muscled 7-iron in the rough or hazard.

  5. Club

    Driver 200-230-260

    3-wood 180-215-235

    5-wood 170-195-210

    2-iron 170-195-210

    3-iron 160-180-200

    4-iron 150-170-185

    5-iron 140-160-170

    6-iron 130-150-160

    7-iron 120-140-150

    8-iron 110-130-140

    9-iron 95-115-130

    PW 80-105-120

    SW 60-80-100

This chart helps me a lot

  6. Well I usually hit the ball with my club and if it ds not go far enough pick it up and chuck it.........

  7. Young man .... it is up to you to determine which club feels best in your hands for each shot that you you must take . When  I first started playing, I went to the driving range and used each club in my bag and hit about 20 balls with each... This should give you a good feel for your clubs. Remember that the higher # of the club, the shorter the shot should be. ex. #9 I use from about 140 yds and in. Everyone is different... Strength and conditioning play a very big part.

  8. Dude, you hit the balls.

  9. Golfer 92, you're a real beaut. Thanks for my daily chuckle.
